The story of Power 107.9 is fascinating. The crazy general manager named the station “Dianna 107.9” after his wife. He was pressured to change the name to something more normal, like “Power 107.9.” And he did … after first trying out the name “The New Power D 107.9” for a few months.

The station eventually evolved into “Mix 107.9,” a Hot AC (and later CHR) station.
